Fresh off a stint in Ferret Music’s renowned Blood Has Been Shed, CT native Dave Sharpe (current Dead by Wednesday Guitarist) formed End-Time Illusion in 2002. Looking to set the bar with technically proficient metal yet add hooks and melody, the focus on content was weighing the balance of the exoteric and esoteric life of an antinomian individual. The original quartet quickly hit the scene with a self-released EP and toured clubs throughout the northeast.
In 2005 E-TI released “So Below” through Spare Change Records, and the well received follow-up “Eminent Profane” in 2008. A video for Surrounded by Deception directed by Herzog & Sevigny was released to promote the album and help bring light to the degradation of America through the manipulation of media. Regional and national tours followed in support of both releases. After working through some transitions to solidify the most potent line-up and consistently enticing music, E-TI released Deities at War in 2015 and released the single The Conquering Mantra with a video and backed by national college radio play. After a US tour the band took time off to write new material and revise the lineup once again. Currently comprised of Dave Sharpe and Adam Sloan as the mainstays and utilizing Alex Cohen from NYC on drums (Malignancy, Pyrexia to name a few associations) the band is releasing Anamnesis Genesis in 2020, a rich palette of metal that embraces diverse dark textures.
